A Focused Week of Physics for Machine Learning in Kyoto (2023)
Venue: Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics / Dates: August 7--10, 2023
The workshop aims to exchange new ideas among physicists who are interested in machine learning. There are three guests from Germany working on this topics:
Jan Pawlowski (Heidelberg Univ.) -- fRG, lattice, machine learning, QFT
Jan Horak (Heidelberg Univ.) -- fRG, machine learning
Len Brandes (Technical University of Munich) -- Bayesian analysis, neutron star physics
Also, the relation between learning processes and the effective dimension of data, especially the possibility of localized distribution of data in lower dimensions is to be discussed.
Topological features associated with the eigenvalue distributions of the Hamiltonian and its characterization via machine learning techniques will be one of the topics to be considered.
We will have talk slots with speakers, but the preferred scheme is not a conventional workshop style. We rather would like to have a roundtable discussion with a discussion leader. The discussion leader can present research work with slides, of course, but the emphasis is not about what has been understood, but rather about what is to be understood.
The list of speakers (discussion leaders) includes the members of B03 as well as Kyoto locals and guests:
BRANDES, Len (Technical Univ. Munich)
FUKUSHIMA, Kenji (The Univ. Tokyo)
FUNAI, Shotaro (ARAYA Research)
HASHIMOTO, Koji (Kyoto Univ.)
HIRONO, Yuji (Kyoto Univ.)
HORAK, Jan (Heidelberg Univ.)
ITOU, Etsuko (YITP, Kyoto)
KAMATA, Syo (The Univ. Tokyo)
KITAZAWA, Masakiyo (YITP, Kyoto)
MISUMI, Tatsuhiro (Kinki Univ.)
MURASE, Koichi (YITP, Kyoto)
PAWLOWSKI, Jan (Heidelberg Univ.)
SHIOZAKI, Ken (YITP, Kyoto)
