Mikhail Knyazev
Institute for Linguistic Studies RAS & HSE in St. Petersburg
My name is Mikhail (Misha). I am a linguist at the Institute for Linguistic Studies RAS. I also teach at the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg .
My main area of specialization is syntax, especially clausal complementation. My PhD dissertation (UiL OTS, Utrecht, 2016) was on the syntax of čto- and to,čto-clause complements in Russian. I mostly work in the generative framework, but I am also interested in functional typological approaches. In my work, I try to combine theory with experimental and corpus research. I am particularly interested in Experimental Syntax.
I also did fieldwork on 'say'-based complementation in a number of Altaic languages (Chuvash, Kalmyk, Bashkir, Buryat).
