I’m Mohammed K. AbuFoul, a Ph.D. candidate in Communication Engineering at Lakehead University, Canada, originally from Gaza, Palestine. My academic journey has been shaped by over a decade of experience as a university lecturer, mentor, and researcher passionate about advancing wireless communication systems in challenging environments. My research focuses on physical-layer communication challenges in high-mobility settings, particularly wireless sensing, Doppler-aware estimation, and innovative signal processing techniques.
Having lived and taught in diverse cultural contexts, I deeply value the power of education to transform lives and communities. As I near the completion of my doctorate, I am excited to pursue a faculty position in Canada where I can contribute to cutting-edge research, inspire students, and foster collaboration in inclusive academic environments.

Mohammed Kamel AbuFoul (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Communications and Control) and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication Systems) from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada, where his research focuses on wireless communication for high-mobility environments, with particular emphasis on OTFS modulation, doubly selective channel modeling, channel estimation, and waveform design for 6G systems. He has extensive teaching experience, having served as a sessional lecturer in the Computer Science and Software Engineering programs at Lakehead University in 2023 and 2025, and previously as a teaching assistant and sessional lecturer at the Islamic University of Gaza and the University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) in Gaza between 2009 and 2022. His broader research interests include 6G and beyond wireless communications, integrated sensing and communication, signal processing, and communication for high-mobility environments. He is a recipient of multiple academic awards, including the Faculty Research Scholarship and Faculty of Engineering Awards at Lakehead University, the CUPE Local 3905 Graduate Award, and the 2025 AFCCE Scholarship Award in recognition of academic excellence in communications engineering, Washington, DC, USA, and has also received Mitacs Lab2Market funding to validate his research on channel estimation and localization in high-mobility environments for real-world search-and-rescue applications.
