The research group led by Professor Morakot Kaewthamasorn investigates haemosporidian parasites (including malaria parasites and related species) and parasitic bacteria—specifically Anaplasma, hemotrophic mycoplasmas, and Bartonella spp.—in animal hosts. Our research further explores the ecology and transmission dynamics of hematophagous arthropod vectors, such as mosquitoes, sand flies, bat flies, and ticks. These vectors are examined in both domesticated and wild animal populations, including rodents, primates, and bats.
