Dr. Mohammad J. A. Moein is currently appointed as a research scientist at the Free University of Berlin in Germany and holds the DFG principal investigator fellowship. He is leading the project entitled as "High-resolution analysis of seismo-thermo-hydro-mechanical processes in fractured rocks during hydraulic stimulation: model development, validation and application".

His research interests span from Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical THM Modeling, Physics-based Understanding of Induced Seismicity, Discrete Fracture Network DFN Modeling and Imaging Subsurface Fractures and Faults with the aim of understanding complex physical processes in fractured rocks by means of laboratory investigations, field-scale experiments and numerical models in the context of engineering subsurface reservoirs.
