Our plan is to move beyond the classic description of biodiversity patterns to develop a better understanding of how to halt biodiversity loss in glacial ecosystems through conservation actions.

We focus on habitat structure, species interactions and ecosystem services, but also on an informed use of these novel ecosystems for human activities and welfare.

We will provide evidence-based recommendations to support decision-making process that determines policy options and management measures. Action plans will be discussed with different stakeholders and co-designed with local communities via participatory science.
