Hìdҽ my fαcҽ

Hide My Face, is a performance installation based on the praxis ‘Mouth Singing.’ Performing a song written by Scherrebeck en route to Portugal, on a journey through the maternal line and intergenerational trauma, two figures take up various positions as they sing into each other’s mouth. As they sing, their bodies become resonance chambers, vessels through which time flow. Accompanying the performers is a video installation inside a ceramic vase, displaying another iteration of the performance, creating a canon composition between past, present and future. Shown at Kunstinstituut Melly, Rozenstraat Gallery, Arthuis SYB (NL)

by Peter Scherrebeck Hansen, de Brakkegrond, Amsterdam, 2022

Souvenir explores the "choreographic vase". On stage a vase is being carved out from its inside, while five performers inhabit the stage in scores of dance, song, care giving and time bending. The bodies on stage oscillate between guesting and (g)hosting - in moments they become choreographic vases themselves, while moving through memories and bended temporalities.

ParaCity is a sonic choreography which mixes collective and private mythologies with memories of late capitalism and other great fictions . On stage we see a hybrid maiden figure who morphs from act to act in  a sonic wedding ritual - the acts and characters are channeled in close collaboration with clairvoyant Pardis Pourahmad.

Performed at Frascati, Amsterdam and Ufer Studios, Berlin - 2022

Po⃣rous Nestʂ

by Peter Scherrebeck, Katrine Staub and Snorre Elvin

since 2020

performed at Selected Works // Det Frie Felts Festival (Copenhagen) Lothringer 13 Halle (Munich) and Lause (Berlin) with residencies at Tanzbüro, Lause and Marselisborg Gymnasium

"Porous Nests" is a performance project developing the practice of building porous nests for dance to happen within. In a liquid space that transforms over time choreographers Kat Staub, Snorre Elvin and Peter Scherrebeck Hansen are both as makers and performers striving to expand the notion of the stage and of performative staging through building nest installations that can host different performative actions.

In an engagement into creating anchors of nurture, the emerging spaces come to serve as containers able to host flamboyant performances and vulnerable court shipping that inaugurate the dance as a tool for practical magic, rituals of care and political resistance. The body performing in this landscape is seen as an extension of the installation, and as a porous nest of dance itself.

AʅႦum̵̈́͂ for ndo-Financιαl™tu̷n̷in

by Peter Scherrebeck Hansen with Paca Faraus and Kat Merten

premiered at SNDO3 lilCAUSE, Academie voor Theater en Dans, Amsterdam in November 2020

"Album for Endo-Financial™tuning" is an audiovisual choreographic album. The album offers an alternative approach to dealing with late capitalism, creating a scientific and theatrical New Age tool that aims to break with the money system as we know it. Each track on the album is produced in a specific musical keynote that stimulates a specific gland or energetic center of the body. The songs aim to tune the energetic and financial body of the audience to create mental wealth.
