Mistwood Educational Center is an independent, non-profit, co-ed, private school.

Location: Bayside, California, a small rural community in Humboldt County. We are approximately 3 miles south of Humboldt State University.

Facilities: Mistwood is housed in a former church building listed on the historic registry. In addition to the main building there is an"annex" that has two classrooms, and an office.

Teachers:4 full and part-time teachers, all have one or more California teaching credentials.

Curriculum: Mistwood offers a well rounded curriculum focused on art, STEM, social-emotional learning, and social justice. We have four guiding practices that under lies and unites our teaching: Personalized Learning Plans, Thematic Based Classes, Cultivating a Passion for Learning and Proficiency Based Assessment

Mistwood's TK-12th grade education that is personalized to student and family needs and strives to cultivate a love of learning. Our thematic classes creates exciting and fun content that drives a passion for lifelong learning. Our proficiency based assessment and 21 century graduation requirements ensures that we guide our students into well rounded young adults. The Mistwood approach provides a foundation for our students to flourish in high school, college, communities and the global world.
