In-Home Daycare & infant/toddler Preschool
Located in DES MOINES, WA (central/downtown Des Moines)
Miss Meli's Experience
6+ years experience as private nanny – all age ranges, including infant (throughout college)
7+ years experience teaching – public school K & 1st grade, and 8 months at a preschool/childcare center in WA.
Experienced mom of a 18-month-old! 😊
Miss Meli has a passion for “whole child” learning, which includes an emphasis on social emotional learning (understanding our feelings, emotional regulation, cooperation & peer interactions) AND academics (ABC’s, language, vocab, etc.) through exposure. No child is forced or required to participate in educational “work” because all concepts are imbedded into play!
What makes MMLL Different from other in-home care?
Infant & Toddler Preschool & Care – *currently caring for ages 3 months to 30 months*
Only FOUR care slots each “school” day! My maximum is four children in one day of care. Thus, providing a more intimate setting where Miss Meli will work directly with families to ensure all the needs of your child are being met.
My passion, dedication, and love for guiding and supporting children in learning to be successful little humans. 😊
Flexible Care- Part-time, Full-Time, and (scheduled) single day drop-in’s available!
Homemade & highly nutritious meals provided daily. (Breakfast, AM snack, Lunch, and PM Snack)
Constant communication and updates throughout the day, including pictures and video!
Work one-on-one with families to ease anxieties common with transitioning from parent/family care to “stranger” care. I work to ease your child’s fear and yours! Because let’s be honest, it’s a scary world and you’re sending your precious little one to me, a stranger (hopefully not for long! 😊).
*Currently caring for ages 3 months to 30 months*: My current preschool format is targeted to infants and toddlers. And I will be updating the preschool learning model and care age range, as the children in my care age and develop. I will have a Pre-K curriculum when I begin to except children in the age range of 2 years to 5 years (within the next 10 months). I am very much a planner (the life-long teacher part of my personality) and will have MMLL open for at least the next 7 years. Some families have expressed concern that once their child reaches the current maximum age of 30 months, they will have to leave MMLL and search for other care. This is NOT the case! My first and foremost goal is to support the ongoing learning and development of all the children in my care. It should also be noted, that once I begin to accept children in the age range of 2y to 5y, I will also increase my maximum care slots each day, to as many as 8 slots. This will also cause a decrease in tuition, as my tuition rates are curated largely based on my ratio size. If you have any further questions or concerns in relation to this explanation, I would love to discuss over the phone or in person.
