At Miss Mac's Crafts, we're all about the fun—but behind all those paint splatters lies the key to the joy of a lifelong love of art and learning. Art classes teach important skills like fine motor strength, creative thinking, problem-solving, focus, and can even improve comprehension in early math and language concepts. Our camps are inspired by the joy of childhood and designed with Indiana’s Early Learning Foundations in mind. We love providing children with a fun and safe place to explore and learn!
Our Camp
Our camp is designed to foster important cognitive and hands-on skills, as well as a joy for the arts and learning in general. Register for a Tuesday or Saturday class and join in on the fun! These classes offer a unique opportunity for you and your child to develop new skills and express your creativity together.
We also offer workshops! To request us in your school or area please contact management at MissMacsCrafts@gmail.com.
Early childhood art programs encourage...
Our camp is designed to spark your child’s creativity through hands-on art projects that encourage self-expression. Whether they’re painting, building, or exploring different textures, each activity is an opportunity for your little one to think outside the box and create something entirely their own. Creativity boosts confidence, fosters curiosity, and allows children to experiment and grow in a fun, supportive environment.
Fine motor skills are essential for tasks like holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, and even tying shoelaces. At Miss Mac’s Summer Camp, we offer plenty of opportunities for children to practice these skills through art-focused activities. From squeezing glue bottles and holding paintbrushes to assembling crafts, each project helps strengthen hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and muscle control. These activities lay the foundation for academic success and day-to-day tasks, all while having fun!
At Miss Mac’s Summer Camp, young children engage in art activities that help develop their thinking skills. As they explore different materials and experiment with shapes, colors, and textures, kids start to understand basic concepts like size, pattern, and order. These creative activities support memory development and help children learn to focus. By experimenting and problem-solving through art, children build the foundation for essential skills such as pattern recognition and logical thinking—skills that will grow as they continue to explore the world around them.
FAQ's for Parents
Our camp is designed for creative kiddos ages 2.5 to 2nd grade! We offer fun, hands-on art projects that are perfect for little hands and big imaginations. Whether your child is just starting to explore art or is a seasoned mini-artist, they are sure to enjoy our engaging and educational workshops!
Our programs are meant to foster a love of learning and the visual arts, and are designed to enhance the everyday lessons your child experiences inside and outside of the traditional classroom. We believe that the joy of learning is best experienced through play, especially in young children. Our activities are based on Indiana’s Early Learning Foundations, and support key areas like creative expression, motor skills, and independent thinking. The building blocks to achieve that love of learning might seem simple to us, but consistent simple projects, songs and stories are actually the best ways to gain the attention of children, whether the child realizes it or not. That is the magic of early childhood education that we strive for at Miss Mac's Crafts.
Summer Camp classes that are not hosted at a school require a parent/guardian to be present. Children learn so much through modeling, so don't be afraid to get messy with your child! We love seeing families create together and explore art as a team.
While we do provide smocks and all of our paint is washable, there is always a risk for staining in anything art-related. For this reason we ask that you dress your child/yourself accordingly. Miss Mac's Crafts is not responsible for any damaged clothes, but we are more than happy to help you upcycle them!
Every week your child will create a project that they will be able to take home that day. In addition to their projects, they will be involved in engaging lessons, exciting songs, and all-around silliness! Each project is designed to spark imagination, encourage problem-solving, and further fine motor skills.
If you are not able to make it to your scheduled class for any reason, you are welcome to attend any other eligible class, within a week and a half before/after that class' date, as a replacement. Please keep in mind that classes within the same week are identical in curriculum, and classes not held in a childcare center or preschool will require parent/caregiver's attendance. Aforementioned eligible classes include non-preschool locations, which are currently our Tuesday 10:00am classes and Saturday 10:00am and 2:00pm classes. Refunds will be issued only in the event of a class cancelation by the instructor or for emergencies at the discretion of management.
