Online Tools
In this project, we learned how to use different online tools to enhance lessons. We were given the opportunity to work with tools and create products that I have embedded down below.

What are Online Tools?
Online Tools are any tool that can be found online that will assist in the creation of different ideas. These tools can include drawing, video editing, blogging, and more. I will implement online tools in my classroom in many different ways. One way is to allow students to use these tools to create projects that go along with the lesson and assist their learning. Another way I am going to use online tools is by creating my lessons using my online tools and teaching the students through them.
MY PADLETS:
In my classroom, I plan to use many online tools, including:
KAHoot:
Kahoot is an interactive quizzing website to test your student’s knowledge of material while being timed. You can display it on the board and it is a fun way for the students to compete against each other. It is a multiple-choice game that gives you 4 possible answers and you have to choose the correct answer. I would use this in my class as a “day before the test” review.
Prezi:
Prezi is a fun way to involve students and helping them create slideshows with different themes. This tool is intended for students to display information they have learned through a slideshow. In Prezi you are able to pick from different themes and slide options to present as a formal slideshow or they can start from a template and go from there. I think this would be an exciting tool to use in my classroom for students to start figuring out how to display information they are starting to retain. I could also use Prezi to present a new lesson and make it fun with images and transitions, compared to a boring word filled slideshow.
BLOGGER:
Blogger is a tool that is free to use to practice writing, learning how to publish a piece of writing, and learn how to blog and read other blogs. I chose this tool because it helps students write down their feelings to create a meaningful writing and to easily share independent writings with others. I could implement this tool by requiring a new blog each week over a current event in the US. I can also require each student to comment on a few peers’ blogs.
SOCRATIVE:
Socrative would be a very useful tool to measure and see the comprehension of students. The way this online tool works is a teacher is able to set up a “classroom” where they add information for students to study over or take quizzes, and play games. You are able to monitor what students are doing, while creating some interactive assignment for them to do. This would be tool that I would use if I was wanting students to take quiz, but I can see what they are doing, also if I wanted to have some type of assignment for them to do, making sure they are staying on task. This website is free, but it does cost to access some of the other viewing and test taking features.
VIMEO:
Vimeo is a tool that is free to use to make videos using pictures and videos, but there is also a “pro” version that gives you access to more options. I chose this tool because the navigation was easy, and I have heard great things about it. An example of a time to use this is when we are studying a certain book or novel. I could have my students use pictures, videos, and text through this tool for them to create a video telling the plot of the story
WORD WALL:
Word wall is another tool that can be used in a variety of ways. This tool is sort of discovery learning, but also mind mapping. It is similar to Quizlet in the way that I could create matching sets or quizzes for my students. Word Wall is more frequently used in the Language Arts section as it takes vocabulary games and review it into the digital world. Word Wall however, give many more options such as maze chase, crossword, labelled diagram, flip tiles, airplane, whack-a-mole, quiz style, matching, and many others. I would most definitely choose this tool over many others because it is allowing students to review the material that I created, but in a fun way.
