What college did you graduate from?
I graduated from Arkansas State University in 2023 with my B.S.E. in Elementary Education.
Will my child be allowed to make up work if they miss a day of class?
If your child misses a day of class, they will be required to submit an excuse note or doctor's note to the front office. After submitting a note, they will be allowed to make up work if necessary.
Can I volunteer in the classroom or at Apple Valley as a lunch or recess aide?
Yes, I would love for you to come volunteer! If you want to volunteer in my class, email me (asia.hervey@applevalley.edu) or call me (501-111-1111) so we can discuss a time. If you want to volunteer as a lunch aide or recess aide, call Mrs. Rachel Richards in the main office (501-222-2222).
What programs do you celebrate?
At Apple Valley, we hold a Thanksgiving Program, a Fall Fest, and a Christmas Program every year. In my classroom, we hold a Valentine's Day party and a Christmas Party.
Can I send supplies to school with my child?
Yes! Any supplies sent to school with your child will be used by only them. Their name will be written on the items and stored in their desk. Any donations to the class are appreciated. Here is a link to my classroom technology wishlist.
Does my child need to wear a mask in class?
Masks are not required, but are suggested. We want to keep everyone in our class safe! I am fully vaccinated and will continue to wear my mask ever day when in close proximity to the children.
My child misplaced their monthly newsletter, where I can another?
Newsletters are available on this website. Click here to access the overall newsletter site---then click the corresponding month to access that month's newsletter.
I am unhappy with my child's performance in your class. What can I do to fix this?
Every child is different with different needs. Email me (asia.hervey@applevalley.edu) or call me (501-111-1111) to set up a meeting to discuss the next steps for your child.
Where can I access the lunch menu for the day?
All lunch menus can be accessed here. Click on the corresponding month to access that month's lunch and breakfast menu.
My child needs extra practice in certain subjects. What do you suggest for them to do?
Here is a list of websites that students have access to. I suggest that you sit with your child, explore the websites, and pick one to focus on. Incorporate practice and games every day until your child feels confident.
