Behavior Sheets:
To support positive behavior and help students reflect on their choices, we use individual daily behavior sheets in the classroom. Throughout the day, students have opportunities to demonstrate our three main expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Ready to Learn (Responsible).
Supporting Student Success:
Students receive positive feedback, prompts, and reminders throughout the school day to help them demonstrate classroom expectations.
Students may receive reminders or prompts when additional support is needed.
When an expectation is demonstrated, the student earns the corresponding star.
When an expectation is NOT demonstrated during an activity, the star may remain unearned. Please note: Previously earned stars are not taken away.
Students receive another opportunity during the next activity to demonstrate the expectation and earn a star.
Daily/Long-Term Behavior Goal - Punch Card:
Each student has an individualized daily behavior goal based on their needs.
At the end of the day, students who meet their individualized behavior goal receive one punch on their personal punch card.
The punch card is separate from the star system.
When the punch card is full, the student chooses a prize from the classroom prize box.

Positive Reinforcement:
To encourage positive choices and provide frequent opportunities for success, students word toward both immediate and long-term reinforcement.
Star System - Free Choice Time: Frequent/immediate reinforcement (There is no maximum number of stars a student can earn in a day)
Students earn stars throughout the school by demonstrating safe, respectful, and ready to learn behaviors.
When a student earns 10 stars, they earn their individualized free-choice/activity time.
After free choice time, the students' star count is reset and they begin working towards their next 10 stars.
The amount and type of free-choice time may be individualized based on each student’s needs and reinforcement plan.
