School Counseling

Miranda Matthews, MS

My name is Miranda Matthews. I am employed by Catholic Charities, and will be working as a behavior health service provider and counselor intern in your school! While I have been working as a behavior clinician for five years, I am also pursuing a mental health counseling license. I am married and have lived in Mishawaka since 2008. I have two children and two cats. If you have any questions about me, want to request counseling for your child or just want to chat with me about your child, please reach out using the contact info below.

I currently hold a Master of Science in Educational Psychology, and work within that scope on behavior and skill building. Part of the process for me to obtain my license in counseling is to record 4-5 sessions with clients during the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025. These sessions will not contain any identifying information like names, or your child’s face. The video will be recording only me and the audio of the session. This is completely optional, and you can indicate whether you want to participate in this important process when you review the consent form. I am also being supervised by a licensed mental health counselor and a clinical university instructor.

About Me:

What is school counseling?

School counseling is a well supported field and you can find school counselors in many settings.  What is unique about this program is that we are providing mental health therapy in the school setting, without the obligation to fill out schedules for students.
