I took my IB music exam on Friday and I'm trying to identify one of the pieces that came up under the "unidentified listening" section. Basically, you're given a piece with no context, and you analyse it. The song had male vocals, flamenco style (acoustic) guitar, bass and percussion. There's a fast, plucked Flamenco guitar solo in the middle. I wish I could provide more details, but those are the only lyrics that I remember, and I don't even speak Spanish (or it could have been Portuguese) so they could be totally wrong.

Nepenthes Song of Melancholy x mira already shows the characteristic orange/red coloration we love in mira crosses. We expect pitchers to get large and peristomes to get more colorful as plants mature. We've found this cross to do well across a wide range of conditions and it's a fast grower.

Nicholas Warren Mira (born August 25, 2000) is an American record producer from Cranberry Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, who is part of the producer collective Internet Money, a record label he co-founded with fellow producer Taz Taylor. He gained notoriety for developing the sound of late rapper Juice Wrld,[1] including the songs "Lucid Dreams," "Robbery," "Bandit," and "Lean wit Me." He also worked with rapper Lil Tecca on "Ransom" and took a part in Internet Money's single "Lemonade." Mira's work consists primarily of hip-hop instrumentals, and he contributed production to the Internet Money collective album B4 the Storm (2020).[2]

In 2017, he, along with Taz Taylor and Dex Duncan, got his first major placement in XXXTentacion's Trippie Redd-assisted single "Fuck Love". It entered at number 41 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and eventually peaked at number 28 after X's death. On March 29, 2019, the song became the most streamed song ever on the streaming platform SoundCloud with 206 million streams. Mira began working with Juice Wrld after becoming acquainted with him through their mutual friend and fellow producer, DT. "Lucid Dreams" was created after Mira produced the instrumental and sent it to Juice Wrld, who recorded vocals.[10] The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, has sold over 14 million certified units worldwide and was certified 5-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Mira and Juice WRLD's working relationship continued on the 2019 commercial project Death Race For Love. After the success of Goodbye and Good Riddance, Mira continued to frequently create and send collections of beats to the rapper, and estimated that the duo had over 100 unreleased songs in 2019.[15] Mira noted that the project represented a step forward in both Juice WRLD's and Mira's artistry, and attributed the development of their sound to the experience they had gained by working with each other.[15] Mira also credited hardcore rock bands as influences for the album's sound.[15] On March 8, 2019, Death Race For Love was officially released, on which Mira contributed production for four tracks, including commercial standouts Empty and Robbery.[16] The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart on March 14, 2019, with first-week sales of 165,000 album equivalents sold.[17]

In 2020, Mira produced a variety of songs on Juice WRLD's first posthumous album, "Legends Never Die", including "Smile" with the Weeknd, which was added to updated version of the album in August 2020.[19][20] Mira also produced tracks for other artists including "Lemonade", a collaboration with Gunna featuring Don Toliver and Nav, produced and released with Internet Money.[21][22] The track later become a hit single worldwide, peaking at number one in the United Kingdom and the top ten of the Hot 100.

Later during 2020, Mira contributed to the production of 10 songs on the collaborative Internet Money album B4 The Storm, which peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.[23] The album included frequent collaborators Lil Tecca, TyFontaine, and 24kGoldn, all of whom Mira has continued to produce for to date.[24]

Ireland adopted the song by the young Irish Canadian as their own. In 1983, two different versions of the song - one by Brendan Grace and another by Brendan Shine - landed on the Irish Top Ten charts at the same time.

It had indeed - the simple scenes from an Irish Canadian childhood captivated and entranced listeners. He did not know how huge a hit it was about to become until the day a car drove onto the pier where the fishing boat he had been working on was just docked. The driver had a tape with orchestral backing of the song to play for him. It was the big time.

According to MacGillivray, the song basically wrote itself. He said in 2018: I was sitting, practicing the classical guitar when my song came to me in a rush and I just got the sensation I was going to write something.

Song For The Mira - contemporary folk song in the Celtic style, written in 1973 by Allister MacGillivray, a songwriter, guitarist, folklorist, author, record producer, born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1948. Its lyrics speak of a longing for, and eventual return to, the serenity of the Mira River region of Cape Breton, NS. The song was included in 1976 by John Allan Cameron on his LP Weddings, Wakes & Other Things (repackaged as Song For The Mira). This song has been recorded over 135 times and has been translated into Scots Gaelic, French, Dutch Mi'kmaq and Japanese. (taken from the Canadian Encyclopedia).

The song emerged on a rainy August night 45 years ago when MacGillivray was staying in a cottage owned by a doctor on Prince Edward Island. According to MacGillivray, the song basically wrote itself.

A year later, MacGillivray received a call from the organizers of the International Girl Guides Jamboree which was being held in Mira. Organizers asked if they could have the song translated so they could sing it at their event. Then the Rise and Follies of Cape Breton used it and TV and movie actor Noel Harrison recorded it. MacGillivray was pleased with all the attention the song was receiving but probably assumed it would end soon.

Mira song is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver BC and Seoul, South Korea and has exhibited throughout Canada, Seoul and Hong Kong. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, a Certificate in Garden Design from UBC and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Korea National University of Arts in Seoul.

My mom used to sing me this song to sleep, and every time I would cry. I would mourn for the time lost, the land laid bare, the movement of life. My little toddler brain could not handle the idea that life could move forward in such altering ways. To be completely fair, I have not moved far past those fears. I still toddle after time as it speeds ahead desperately grasping at whatever I can hold on to. It is for this reason that I cannot quite comprehend how fast time has passed and how this program has come to an end so soon. The flowers have bloomed, the Spring heat has come and gone and come again, and here I stand having to say goodbye to a place and people that I have found home in.

Her songs speak to themes of unity, hope for the future, exile, and the feeling of walking on a tightrope without a net. For most of the show, she sang accompanied by pianist, Guy Mintus. For a few songs, she called guest performers up to the stage: a percussionist named Michael Feigenbaum, an Israeli Jew who had run the New York City Marathon hand-in-hand with someone from Gaza; Tim Ries a renowned saxophonist; and his daughter, Jasia Ries who sang in French with Mira.

"Song for the Mira" was written by Allister MacGillivray and has a

copyright date of 1979. Not that old as Nova Scotian folk songs go.

Arnold,I have received your note and thanks very much.

I really like that song.

I have been trying to find the CD / tape for that song (ottawa), for 6

months,

still can not find it, but again, I have not given 100 % full effort.Have you ever heard the story of a guy , who is so obsessed with Anne

Murray .

For the third time he was caught by the police in the neighbourhood

where Anne Murray

lives. I dont remember, was it in Toronto or in Nova Scotia.

And then, he asked the police for a quarter to make a phone call.

It is assumed, that he is going to call a lawyer. Wrong, he called

Anne Murray again.

The behaviour is what you called 'stalking' , but this guy is not a

violent type.

He really believes that Anne Murray loves him and that Anne Murray

needs him.

That is why, he always hangs around where Anne Murray lives.

I dont know what happens to this guy at the present time.Well, so much for the story, I have to find this CD or tape, because

I dont remember the complete tune of the song.

The part that I remember is : ' I am going to be with them '

and these words are repeated a few times at the end.

Once I know the complete song, then I can play and sing it with a

guitar.

And I believe, I can do a good job.Again , thanks and very gratefull for the lyrics,
