PRIVACY POLICY FOR MIRA: DECISION JOURNAL TRACKER

MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker is committed to protecting your privacy.
The short version: MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker stores everything you enter exclusively on your device. Nothing is transmitted, collected, or shared — ever. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to access your data.
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker is built as a fully offline application. The app's AndroidManifest.xml does not declare an INTERNET permission, which means the app is technically incapable of transmitting any data over a network. This is verifiable by any technically competent reviewer and constitutes the strongest possible privacy guarantee.
No data is sent to any server — ever
No cloud storage of any kind is used
No account or registration is required
No analytics or usage tracking is performed
No advertising networks or SDKs are included
No crash reporting services are used
No third-party data processors receive any data
All data processing occurs exclusively on your device using Android's Room (SQLite) database stored in application-private storage. No data ever leaves your device.
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker requests the following permissions. None are used to collect or transmit data.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To deliver reflection and action step reminders you configure
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To reschedule your reminders after the device restarts
WAKE_LOCK: To ensure WorkManager can deliver reminders on time
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: To deliver reminders at the precise time you set
USE_EXACT_ALARM: As above, for Android 13+ compatibility
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only): To save a CSV export to your Downloads folder when you explicitly request it
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker provides two export features, both entirely user-initiated:
Export as text / Export as CSV: Creates a file containing your decisions and reflections. The text export is shared via your device's standard share sheet (email, messaging app, etc.) — you choose the destination. The CSV export is saved to your device's Downloads folder. We do not send this data anywhere.
When you share data using your device's share sheet, the receiving application (email, messaging, cloud storage) will handle that data according to its own privacy policy. MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker has no control over data once it has been shared by you.
If you enable reminders, MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker uses Android's WorkManager to schedule local notifications. Notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content is transmitted to any server. Notifications contain only the text set by the app ("Time to reflect" or your action step text) — they do not contain your personal decision data.
You can disable all notifications at any time through your device's system notification settings or by removing reminders within the app.
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection SDKs.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You have full control and may exercise your data rights directly within the app at any time:
Access your data: Browse all your decisions and reflections in the Home, History, and Insights screens.
Export your data: Settings → Export — creates a text or CSV file you can save or share.
Delete all data: Settings → Delete all data — permanently and irreversibly deletes all decisions, reflections, and preferences from your device.
Uninstall the app: Permanently removes all data stored by MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker.
These actions constitute the complete exercise of your data subject rights under applicable law, including the GDPR. Because all data exists only on your device, we have no technical ability to access, recover, or delete your data on your behalf.
All data is stored in Android's application-private storage, which is inaccessible to other apps by design. The app's database is protected by Android's standard application sandbox. Modern Android devices encrypt on-device storage by default, providing an additional layer of protection.
Since no data is transmitted over a network, there is no data-in-transit to protect.
No personal data is transferred internationally or to any external party. All data remains on your device in the country where you use it.
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because all data is stored locally and we have no access to it, we cannot verify the age of users. Parents or guardians who believe a child under the applicable age is using this app are encouraged to use their device's parental controls or uninstall the app.
MIRA: Decision Journal Tracker is a personal thinking and reflection tool only. It does not provide and must not be interpreted as providing medical, psychological, psychiatric, financial, investment, legal, or any other professional advice or guidance.
The Clarity Score displayed within the app is a visual representation of slider values you have entered yourself. It reflects your own inputs back to you in a structured format. It is not a professional assessment, recommendation, prediction, or diagnosis of any kind.
The reflective prompts and coaching questions displayed when you are working through a decision are general thinking frameworks designed to help you examine your own reasoning. They are not tailored to your personal, financial, legal, medical, or psychological circumstances and do not constitute professional guidance.
The pattern analysis shown in the Insights screen is derived purely from data you have entered yourself. It is a statistical summary of your own records, not an external evaluation.
For any significant decision — particularly those involving health, mental wellbeing, finances, legal matters, or safety — always consult a qualified professional.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will update the policy version number. The current version is always available at this URL and within the app under Settings → Privacy policy.
Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
