Miqat is designed as a premium, minimal, and secure Islamic companion utility that respects your absolute privacy. We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. All processing is performed entirely locally on your device.

About the Application

Miqat is a lightweight, ad-free Islamic utility designed to provide highly accurate prayer times, reliable adhan notifications, a Qibla direction compass, and custom lock-screen alert systems. Our core philosophy centers on accuracy, reliability, simplicity, and a distraction-free user experience.

Collection and Use of Your Personal Data

Personal Information

• No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, store, or share any personal information, accounts, names, emails, search history, or personal identifiers.

• Local Storage Only: Any settings you customize (such as selected calculation methods, Asr Madhab, notification sounds, or manual district selection) are saved locally on your device’s private storage and are never transmitted to our servers or any external services.

Location Data (GPS)

• Local Calculation Only: When you select GPS Auto mode, the application requests access to your device's location coordinates (latitude and longitude). This data is used solely to compute local astronomical solar angles to determine accurate prayer times on your device.

• No Tracking or Sharing: Your location coordinates are processed entirely in real-time on your local hardware. We do not track, upload, share, or store your location history on any external servers or with any third-party services.

App Permissions

Miqat only requests permissions that are strictly necessary for its core utility:

• Location (Optional): Required only if you choose to enable the GPS Auto mode for automatic prayer time updates. If denied, the application remains fully functional by allowing you to manually select your district from a preloaded offline database.

• Notifications: Required to schedule background alarm notifications and trigger custom lock-screen alerts for your daily prayers.

• Foreground Service & Wake Lock: Used briefly to ensure that notification channels trigger exactly on time and wake the screen for lock-screen alerts.

• Media & Volume Control: Used locally to intercept hardware volume button keypresses so you can easily stop active prayer playback.

Advertising and Third-Party SDKs

• Completely Ad-Free: Miqat contains zero advertisements, zero tracking networks, and zero promotional popups.

• No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use third-party telemetry, analytics, or behavioral tracking SDKs. Your app experience is entirely clean, private, and uninterrupted.

Children's Privacy

Our application is designed to be a safe, clean utility for everyone. We do not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Security

Because all calculations, settings, and location permissions are processed locally on your device and are never sent over the internet, your data remains secure from external interception. We recommend protecting your device with standard security practices (such as PIN or screen lock patterns) to safeguard your local preferences.
