"Almost a 21700 cell version of the Solo V1 - but disappointingly it has the stainless steel firmware bug☹️"
I've already covered the Geekvape Aegis Solo V1 here and this mod is cut from the same cloth. Think of an upscaled version of this mod that can take either an 18650 or slightly larger 21700 battery and this pretty much describes the Max V1.
At first sight the user interface and general peformance seems identical to the original. However, unlike the Solo V1, the Max is affected by the stainless steel firmware bug as described on this page (scroll down to Inaccuracies: Dialled-in vs Actual Wattages). An unexpected and disappointing flaw that slightly spoils an otherwise top class recommendation.
When this mod first arrived, I was convinced it would immediately replace my Solo V1 as a primary go-to, as the larger capacity 21700 battery is useful for repeated testing I often perform. However, discovering the presence of this bug has prevented this☹️. How annoying.
Exactly the same as the Solo V1.
Differences between the Max V1 & Solo V1
The Max takes either a 21700 or 18650 battery, potentially giving extra capacity over than the Solo's 18650
The physical size & weight of the Max is noticeably greater
The display on the Max is brighter than the Solo when both are turned up to max intensity (although the display may have faded on my test Solo
The Max has the Stainless Steel firmware bug, which the Solo V1 is entirely free from
