Sunday Worship and Sunday School
9:00 am
Candlelight Christmas
Calvary's address is above, but to tell you where “the church” is, we need to think bigger.
Lutherans believe that the church is people gathered around God’s Word rightly preached and God’s Sacraments rightly administered. Those same people live their lives of faith in our community and throughout the world. Wherever you find baptized believers in Jesus Christ, you have found the church.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God who became man, died, and rose again for all of us, for the forgiveness of sin.
Baptized believers in Jesus Christ may become official members of Calvary, and all are welcome to participate in almost everything we do. Holy Communion is open to all believers in Jesus Christ. Whether you arrive with enthusiasm or reluctance, it will be our great pleasure to welcome you.
If you have questions about baptism, funerals, weddings, and other services of Calvary, please call. We are at your service.
Calvary's sanctuary decorated for Easter services.
Regular Sunday Worship is at 9:00 am. You are welcome.
Worship at Calvary is traditional and centered around sound biblical preaching and Holy Communion.
We offer Holy Communion at most Sunday services. All believers in Jesus Christ are welcome to receive the sacrament.
We sing traditional songs, normally accompanied by piano and organ.
2023 Vacation Bible School
Calvary's children in Pre-K through 6th grade gather for Sunday school during the 9:00 am service.
We begin in the sanctuary with a blessing and introduction from the pastor. We then have our Bible lesson in the Fellowship Hall, and end the hour back in the sanctuary so that children may receive Holy Communion and participate in the close of the service.
We also offer Sunday afternoon children's activities , Confirmation classes and a Vacation Bible School each summer.
Youth volunteers at the food shelf
Members of Calvary serve the community at food shelves, prayer groups, quilting guilds, and many other activities. We can help connect you if you wish to serve.
Calvary is supported entirely by donations from our members and friends. Some choose to give in the offering plate while others send their donations. We also collect two special "wicker basket offerings" each month to benefit local charities, respond to emergencies, and fund special projects. If you have questions about the best way to direct your gifts, please speak to the pastor. Thank you for your generosity to Calvary!
Lutherans believe that Christian people carry out the church’s ministry in their daily lives. Pastors equip and encourage the people for that daily ministry by preaching, administering the sacraments, teaching, counseling, visiting the sick and distressed, and advising the church in theological and practical matters.
As of January 2026, Calvary is in the call process for a new pastor. We invite your prayers that God will raise up the right candidate to lead this ministry.
