If you want open-ear earbuds with a long stated connection range and touch controls for everyday listening, choose MINISO X15; if you need translation-focused features for travel and conversation, choose MAIJOFO OWS Open-Ear Translator. For swimming, neither product’s provided specifications establish that it is suitable for use in water, so I would not choose either as a swimming earphone.
• MINISO X15’s biggest strength: Its open-ear hook design leaves the ear canal unobstructed, and it lists a 33-foot Bluetooth range. Trade-off: Its translation features are app-based, and the provided details do not give a water-resistance rating.
• MAIJOFO OWS Open-Ear Translator’s biggest strength: Its translation setup includes four microphones, app-based tools, and features for interpreting and reviewing conversations. Trade-off: Its stated battery life is six hours, and its listed control method involves the app as well as touch.
• MINISO is for listeners who prioritize an open-ear fit, touch controls, and music and call functions alongside translation.
• MAIJOFO is for travelers and language learners who want a broader set of translation and conversation tools.
• For swimming, neither is a supported pick: Neither product’s supplied specifications confirm water protection.
The MINISO X15 is an open-ear Bluetooth earbud with a flexible memory-metal hook and touch controls. Each earbud weighs 8.5 grams, according to its product details. The design keeps the earbuds outside the ear canal, which may appeal to someone who dislikes the feeling of an in-ear tip or wants to remain more aware of nearby sounds while listening. It also supports music playback and phone calls, so translation is not its only stated purpose.
Its translation functions rely on an app and include real-time translation for 148 languages, plus options such as dual-ear translation, translation involving a headphone and phone, and AI chat. Bluetooth 5.4 and a stated connection range of up to 33 feet round out the practical details. The listed driver size is 14.2 millimeters, and the product description presents the sound as stereo audio for music and calls.

I would consider the X15 if an open-ear fit and simple touch control matter more than an extensive set of conversation tools. I would skip it for swimming: the supplied information does not provide a water-resistance specification. That matters more than a comfortable hook design when a buyer is looking for earphones for swimming, because the available details do not establish that the earbuds are meant to be exposed to water.
The MAIJOFO OWS is positioned around translation and conversation. Its listed functions include real-time translation, simultaneous interpreting, dual-ear mode, recording, and a summary and playback feature. The provided product information refers to 144 languages, while its title describes support for 120 languages. That discrepancy makes it sensible to verify the language coverage for a particular use before relying on it for a trip or study plan.
The product description also states that the translator uses four microphones and claims 98 percent accuracy with 0.5-second latency. Those are product claims, not a guarantee for every speaker, setting, or language pair. The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.4, have a stated range of 15 meters, and list six hours of average battery life. Touch controls are listed, but the control method is app-based, which makes the companion app central to the intended experience.
There is a notable fit-detail mismatch in the supplied information: the product name calls it open-ear, but the product details list its ear placement and shape as in-ear. I would check the wearing style carefully if an open fit is a must-have. The description mentions an ergonomic structure and silicone material, but does not resolve that contradiction. As with the X15, there is no supplied water-resistance rating, so I would not recommend treating it as a swimming headphone.
• Best for an unobstructed ear-canal design → MINISO X15. Its listed placement is open ear, with a hook that sits around the ear rather than going into the canal.
• Best for a bundle of conversation tools → MAIJOFO OWS. Its listed functions include recording, simultaneous interpreting, dual-ear mode, and summary and playback.
• Best for a stated Bluetooth range of 33 feet → MINISO X15. MAIJOFO lists a longer metric distance of 15 meters, which is roughly 49 feet, so it actually has the longer stated range on paper; choose based on the type of fit and features you prefer, not the units alone.
• Best for touch control without making app control the only listed method → MINISO X15. The X15 specifies touch control for music and calls; MAIJOFO lists app control alongside touch.
• Best for longer listed battery life → MINISO X15, with an important caveat. Its product information gives a 20-hour battery charge time, which describes charging time rather than listening duration. MAIJOFO lists six hours of average battery life. These figures are not directly comparable, and the X15 sheet does not state its playback runtime.
• Best if claimed translation speed and microphone count are your priority → MAIJOFO OWS. Its description gives a 0.5-second latency claim and four microphones; the X15 information does not give equivalent figures.
• Best for music specifications → MINISO X15. It lists a 14.2-millimeter dynamic driver and a 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency range. MAIJOFO lists a 50 Hz to 5 kHz range, though those specifications alone cannot tell you how either product will sound to you.
• Best for swimming → neither. Neither data sheet confirms water resistance, so there is no sound basis here to call either the best comfortable Bluetooth headphones for swimming.
My Verdict
In my opinion, I would choose the MINISO X15 for general listening and calls because its open-ear placement, hook design, touch controls, and stated music features suit that mix of needs. I would choose the MAIJOFO instead if translation tools such as interpreting and conversation playback mattered more to me.
The supplied specifications for neither product state a water-resistance rating or confirm swimming use. I would not assume that either is safe for use in a pool or other water simply because it has an ear hook or a comfortable fit.
MAIJOFO lists a wider set of conversation functions, including simultaneous interpreting, recording, dual-ear mode, and summary and playback. It also claims 0.5-second latency and use of four microphones, but those figures do not guarantee performance in every situation.
The MINISO X15 is explicitly listed as open ear and uses a hook. MAIJOFO’s name says open-ear, but its product details list in-ear placement, so I would check the fit description carefully before choosing it for that reason.
The X15 is described as designed for extended wear and lists each earbud at 8.5 grams, but its provided battery figure is charging time rather than playback duration. MAIJOFO lists six hours of average battery life and describes an ergonomic fit. The available battery details do not allow a direct runtime comparison.
