About Ming Wei

Dr. Ming Wei Ang is an associate lecturer and interdisciplinary sociologist. His research interests include identities and intimate relationships, sexuality and gender, futures/foresight, neurodivergence (autism/ADHD experiences), and digital media.

Ming Wei's doctoral research investigated the complexities of aromantic- and asexual-spectra experiences, and how people navigate romantic relationships in dynamic and ambiguous ways. He has previously researched on a variety of topics, including queer futures, autism inclusion, digital media interactions, digital trust, international student mobility, and the aspirations and life trajectories of youths in Singapore.

Ming Wei has taught a range of undergraduate courses across sociology, philosophy, and communication studies across various universities, including Nanyang Technological University (NTU), University of Wollongong, University of Newcastle Australia, and Lasalle University of the Arts Singapore.

He holds a Ph.D. from NTU's Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme (focusing on sociology and philosophy), and a Bachelor of Communication Studies (highest distinction) from NTU.
