In Java Edition, up to 255 sounds can be played at once but general sounds only can take 247 slots, with mood slots taking the remaining 8 slots. In Bedrock Edition, up to 32 sounds can be played at the same time.[1]

Although most sounds in Minecraft can only be heard up to 16 blocks away from the source, some events produce sounds that can be heard by all players regardless of their distance to the source of sound. These include:

Displays text for in-game sounds in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Also adds arrows next to the sounds that show the general direction that the sound came from. It allows deaf people to not be at an extreme disadvantage, as well as to aid other players in knowing where sounds came from. Subtitles can be toggled in the Music & Sounds and Accessibility Settings option menus.

Well I was working on a /title Project in my 1.17.1 world and realised it could be way better with the player experience level up sound, but can't find out whats the command to play this exact sound. Can someone tell me?

I would like to be able to adjust the volume of the different sounds. In order to hear certain sounds at a reasonable level, it is necessary to keep the volume turned up loud enough that other sounds are incredibly loud. Walking, climbing ladders and other effects are super loud compared with opening chests and doors, mining blocks, and even mob noises. I read about a 'sounds.json' file I could maybe edit, which allows volume adjustments between 0.0 and 1.0 for each effect, but I have been unable to find this file. It may be only on the Pocket Edition. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know this is not possible at present in the game. Just a volume slider for music and another for overall volume. I really hope they change that in future updates. In my main base I have wooden floors and the sound of me walking across them is insanely loud, same with walking on dirt or gravel...

Thanks, I think. I downloaded it. No idea what to do with it though, I'm a bit of an older player and not very technically minded I'm afraid. What do I do with the files you say I need above? it's like a different language, lol Will doing this give me a user-friendly display in the sound settings like in the Java version where I can adjust the different types of in-game volumes?

Thanks for your reply, I will try and look into things further with the sound issues. Probably will ask one of my sons who knows his way around a computer better than me Nice to know there are other more mature Minecrafters around. I've only got about 10 years on you, so I'm not 'old' old or anything - just feel that way sometimes Good to know people of all ages and walks of life play!

This is a collection of the sounds from the vanilla Minecraft playsound list I find most useful when creating maps. (and I use quite often!)

A quick pro-tip: change the pitch, it can make a completely different sound!

Each sound effect has a name assigned to it in Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac). The game will play these sound effects when different things happen in the game such as breaking a block or throwing a potion. You can also choose to play these sound files or stop them from playing whenever you want using game commands such as /playsound or /stopsound.

Hello, friends, I've been having this strange problem for a few days. I'm losing interest in Minecraft because I can't hear any sounds on there. Is this a problem that anyone else has had? How did you handle it? Please help

f you're experiencing an issue where you can't hear any sound in Minecraft, there are a few potential solutions you can try. First, make sure that your computer's audio is not muted or turned down too low. Check the volume controls on your device and ensure that the sound is enabled more

If the sound issue persists, it may be related to the game settings. Open Minecraft and navigate to the Options menu. From there, select "Music & Sounds" and verify that the "Sound" and "Music" options are enabled and at an audible level.

Has anyone else ever experienced the volume levels changing during a song? The only way I can describe it is it feels like someone's playing with the volume, lowering it for half a second before returning it to it's previous level.

I extrapolated a solution to my issue from that post, after months of irritation. I immediately noticed a drastic reduction in volume, but it's been consistently lower rather than swaying up and down. The instructions in the link inside that link aren't accurate, but if you open your control panel, sound, select your device (for me it was my "Communication Headphones" which was the only place I can use spotify at work), go to advanced, and uncheck the box for "Enable audio enchancements" near the bottom. Click ok a few times to get out of the windows and there you have it. I've not had a volume slide since.

This didnt work for me, or rather, I dont have that option. I only notice my audio fluctuating when Im playing video games. Normally it occurs when the game is loading, e.g. Smite, Warframe. Recently though, Ive gotten back into Minecraft, and it seems to happen constantly there, and it seems to be based on the audio output of the game (at least for minecraft). Doors especially trigger the effect almost every time, possibly due to the sudden and loud noise they make.

As a side note, this is meant to be an all-encompassing guide for every step of the process. As such, some of these steps can be skipped if you are already familiar with their contained topics. This is meant to be a guide that anyone of any skill level can follow if they have the proper patience, regardless of previous knowledge.

Now that you have your sounds.json file with the appropriate text within it and your .ogg music file, you can place your song into the resource pack so that you can begin playing around with it in Minecraft itself.

Question: How can I change the JVM Minecraft uses to the newer version?

Mojang: /home/bebopspeaks/.minecraft/runtime/java-runtime-gamma/linux

Fedora: /lib/jvm/java-17-openjdk-17.0.4.1.1-1.fc36.x86_64/bin/java

Everything at 100% feels a bit jumbled.

The main aim is to sit in the cockpit and hear the engines spool up, get a decent level of voice communications! the rumble of tarmac along with hearing other aircraft ambient noises.

Generally, I find that I need to turn engine sounds down a little in order to be able to hear the flaps and gear deploy and retract properly and often reduce the radio sounds a little because then ATC can be a bit too loud.

I know what you mean. I have struggled with sound settings since SU5. I like to fly addons that include outstanding audio reproductions. The audio source must be good, or high fidelity equipment will just augment the already limited experience.

trying to make a combat music mod for minecraft forge 1.20.1 similar to like genshin impact, basically, a battle music sound will play everytime the player will get hit by a hostile entity/mob and the battle music will stop if there are no hostile mobs within 15 blocks , [problem is with my current code, the detection for if the player is attacked and the method for playing the music is working (as per the logger messages) but no music plays when the player is attacked

issue lies here where I call the UNIV_BRAWL sound event from ModSounds class I can confirm that the UNIV_BRAWL sound event is registered correctly since I can play the sound using /playsound command and works fine

[source] = Specifies from which sound option the sound can be heard. Example: If your music is turned off and you select "music" as a source, the sound cannot be heard because the MUSIC option is turned off. If you have your "blocks" sound option to 80% (or any %) and select "blocks" as source, then the sound can be heard. This selector is useful when for example you want to make a player hear a minecraft music. Usually most of players turn the minecraft music off but if you play a "music" sound with the "blocks" source then the music will be heard because the player is most likely having the "blocks" sounds on.

Edit: I made a mistake in which I thought that Dan was near a cave entrance in that part of the video, which watching it back is definitely not the case, though he's in an mountain biome; which tends to have many near-surface caves, so caves sounds playing where he's at is still a very likely possiblity.

Volume controls in apps and on accessories such as headphones and external speakers may work independently of the controls built into your Surface. You may need to adjust volume levels in more than one place.

To get the best sound from USB or Bluetooth speakers, turn up the volume on your Surface and in the app (if it has its own sound control), and then adjust the volume on the external USB or Bluetooth speakers.

If the sound quality coming from your speakers or an audio accessory isn't good, it's possible the audio recording itself isn't of good quality. Try listening to the same recording on a different device. 2351a5e196
