MultiMC is an alternative launcher for Minecraft. It allows you to have multiple, cleanly separated instances of Minecraft (each with their own mods, resource packs, saves, etc) and helps you manage them and their associated options with a simple and powerful interface.

MultiMC is based on the code hosted on GitHub. The source is only provided for the purpose of collaboration. The changes in the binary distribution compared to code are the inclusion of branding and API keys required for the launcher to function, along with packaging-related adjustments.

According to the Minecraft Wiki page for the Launcher,it should be possible to run the Minecraft launcher using username and password prefixes from the command line and go directly to the game instead of through the launcher.

To run Minecraft with Forge (change C:\Users\nov11\AppData\Roaming/.minecraft/to your MineCraft path :) [Just for people who are a bit too lazy to search on Google...]Special thanks to ammarx for his TagAPI_3 (Github) which was used to create this command.Arguments are separated line by line to make it easier to find useful ones.

Besides setting some basic variables near the top after the functions, it calls a get_classpath function that reads for example ~/.minecraft/versions/1.16.5/1.16.5.json, and loops over the property libraries array, checking to see if each object (within the array), is supposed to be added to the classpath (cp variable). whether this library is added to the java classpath is governed by the should_use_library function, deterministic based on the computer's architecture and operating system. finally, some jarfiles that are platform specific have extra things prepended to them (ex. natives-linux in org/lwjgl/lwjgl/3.2.1/lwjgl-3.2.1-natives-linux.jar). this extra prepended string is handled by get_natives_string and is empty if it doesn't apply to the current library

As of 4/29/2017 the Minecraft launcher for Windows extracts all native files and places them info %APPDATA%\Local\Temp{random folder}. That folder is temporary and is deleted once the javaw.exe process finishes (when Minecraft is closed). The location of that temporary folder must be provided in the launch arguments as the value of

Also, the latest launcher (2.0.847) does not show you the launch arguments so if you need to check them yourself you can do so under the Task Manager (simply enable the Command Line tab and expand it) or by using the WMIC utility as explained here.

Just create this batch command file in your game directory.Bat file takes one argument %1 as the username.

Also, I use a splash screen to make pretty. You will NOT be able to play online, but who cares.

Adjust your memory usage to fit your machine (-Xmx & -Xmns).

NOTE: this is for version of minecraft as of 2016-06-27

If you want to make a custom launcher using the command line then good luck, the only way to login to the minecraft jar(IE: the way the launcher does it) is to send a post request to with the username, password, launcher version, and a RSA key. It then parses the pseudo Json, and uses the session token from that to authenticate the jar from the command line with a load of arguments.

Meet the Minecraft Launcher for Windows, a centralized platform available on the Microsoft Store. This launcher streamlines access to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, Minecraft: Java Edition, and Minecraft Dungeons, presenting an all-in-one solution for enthusiasts of these titles.

This free utility serves as a one-stop gateway to the Minecraft universe, encompassing the Bedrock version, the classic Java Edition, and the immersive Minecraft Dungeons. Despite being a free launcher, the games themselves require individual purchases. However, a notable advantage is its facilitation of cross-platform play, enabling seamless gaming experiences across different devices and platforms.

Each game offered through the launcher delivers a unique gaming experience. Minecraft for Windows offers the quintessential open-world adventure, ripe with creative possibilities and collaborative ventures. In contrast, Minecraft Dungeons leans into narrative-driven gameplay, immersing players in dungeon-crawling expeditions fraught with challenges and treasures.

For PC players seeking a consolidated approach to enjoying Minecraft's diverse offerings, this launcher proves invaluable. With minimal system requirements (Windows 10 version 18362.0 or higher, x64 architecture), it consumes a mere 10.13 MB of storage.

When operating smoothly, this utility proves invaluable, consolidating most Minecraft games within one platform. It alleviates the burden of managing multiple game launchers to access the trio of Minecraft titles. Specially for newcomers venturing into Minecraft, experimenting with the Minecraft Launcher could be highly beneficial.

Download Minecraft Launcher for Windows now and unlock a seamless pathway to your favorite Minecraft titles. Explore, create, and embark on adventures across multiple Minecraft games without the hassle of juggling different launchers.

I get an error every time I try to download bedrock for Minecraft weather it be through the launcher off the website off Xbox app or even MS store. My MS store and Xbox account are the same I have logged out re downloaded both repaired and restarted both to no avail everything like ms store xbox app and mc launcher is installed on my C: drive so its all in the same location. I've done every guide on the internet to no avail I just want to play minecraft with my girlfriend. here are links to all the stuff I tried with people having the same issue. Where some stuff works for some theres a large majority of us that can't get it fixed no matter what and just quit trying but I wanna play this game I reset windows down to factory mode and im still getting this issue its insane.

Hello again friends. I just tried to open minecraft for the first time in months and it prompted me to install a new version of the launcher from the Windows Store. I did that, and it failed to open and gave me this error message:

I would go to the start menu > search for add or remove programs > search for Minecraft launcher (DO NOT UNINSTALL MINECRAFT ITSELF) > click uninstall > follow the prompt that shows up (if any) > go back to the Microsoft store > redownload Minecraft Launcher

Also, the rest of minecraft (like minecraft launcher and stuff) is installed in a different folder than the default, but I looked in that folder and in the minecraft folder and didn't seem to find anything either...

When I try to run it (from the console, using java -jar launcher.jar) the normal text pops up in the console, but the window for the launcher does not appear. An icon for it pops up on the left side of the screen, and if I hold alt and hit tab, it will show up in the list of available programs. Right clicking on it while holding alt will show what the launcher should look like, and clicking on it will cause the active window to lose focus, but will not bring the launcher into focus. The launcher is absent from the Master+W screen, and attempting to resize/maximize the window from alt-space causes Unity to seize up for a moment before returning to normal function.

Do notice that the Minecraft launcher is different from the actual minecraft game. The Minecraft launcher has been detected by the graphics card and I believe it's powering it but the actual game is powered by the integrated graphics card. The Minecraft game is a java environment which when I added it to the Radeon Settings showed me that it was another game called Jedi Academy or something along those lines. Even when Minecraft is running, the graphics card it uses is still the integrated one after adding the Javaw.exe environment to the Radeon settings.

Does anyone have any suggestions or fixes of their own? Thanks in advance.

As stated previously using windows built-in Graphics settings you can force the applications to use the graphics card. The main applications that you are looking for are java.exe and javaw.exe.

You can find these files in a number of places:

For modded using the lastest Curse Forge launcher by Overwolf:

C:\Users\*ProfileName*\Twitch\MinecraftInstall\runtime\bin

C:\Users\*ProfileName*\Twitch\MinecraftInstall\runtime\jre-x64\bin

C:\Users\*ProfileName*\Twitch\MinecraftInstall\runtime\jre-legacy\windows-x64\jre-legacy\bin

(jre-legacy is probably the one you are looking for as they said they would continue to use the legacy launcher)

The latest (recently updated) Minecraft Launcher from Mojang:

C:\Users\*ProfileName*\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Local\runtime\jre-legacy\windows-x64\jre-legacy\bin

Feel free to add any other locations there might be as the install locations have changed from launcher to launcher

The legacy win32 launcher and I believe one older version exists. To find out where these files are just launch the game, open task manager and right-click the Java(TM) Platform SE binary program, and click the open file location to find out where it is running from.

You want to set those to the High-Performance setting.

-As of writing this may be optional.

In order for these files to be configured using Radeon, you have to go into your Radeon application and add the javaw.exe and maybe the java.exe files to your game, in the Gaming tab. To add a game go to the said tab and look for three dots on the right, click them. and press "Add A Game..."

You can then configure the game however you wish, with the exception of the "Anisotropic Filtering" setting, which you want to disable, This setting was causing white borders around blocks, which has to do with the texture filtering. ff782bc1db
