Psychology research group at the University of Edinburgh
Who we are. We are faculty and students at the University of Edinburgh interested in the psychology of gender. The purpose of our group is to facilitate rigorous, quantitative and mixed methods research. We meet fortnightly. Each meeting, someone from the group or an external guest speaker will present their ongoing work for feedback. Presentation topics can focus on the social cognition of gender, gender in AI, gendered beliefs, gender identity, gender biases, intersections among gender and other identities, gender schema, gender in language etc. We work with diverse types of data and methods, including: correlational/observational data, experiments, natural experiments, mixed quant-qual, and natural language processing for "big data."
We aim to foster a supportive environment, sharing knowledge and challenging ideas to help each other conduct the best possible research.
