Mina (Adel Thabet) Bishay

M.Sc, B.Sc

I am a 4th-year PhD student at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London. My research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning and computer vision. My PhD focuses on building automatic (deep learning based) tools for analysing facial expression of patients with mental illnesses, as well as estimating patients symptom severity in real clinical settings. This included working with and developing convolutional and recurrent neural networks, Gaussian mixture models, Fisher vectors, and meta learning. Another problem I am working on is action recognition using limited training data (i.e. few-shot learning) or using just class descriptions (i.e. zero-shot learning).
