MONOLOGUE Audition:
Students must prepare a one-minute monologue to be presented at their audition.
* Choosing a Monologue: Here are a few websites for reference (there are many others online!)
What Makes a Good Monologue (for Kids)?
Stage Agent: Monologues for Kids
Drama Notebook: Free Monologues for Kids and Teens
* Monologue Tips:
The monologue is your opportunity to shine – show your personality, emotion, delivery, stage presence, and your ability to convey and perform in character.
Choose a monologue that you understand and believe in. Understanding the backstory of the monologue will help you identify with the story and character, and deliver the message with impact.
Choose a monologue that highlights and demonstrates your strengths. If you’re funny, show it!
Practice, practice, practice!!! It is highly recommended that you memorize the monologue. This will allow you to move freely and deliver with greater confidence.
Do NOT deliver the monologue with an accent.

VOCAL Audition:
Students should prepare to sing approximately 1 minute (a verse and chorus) of a show tune.

Choose a song that highlights and demonstrates your strengths and character type
Please do not sing a song from this year's show.
Do not sing with an accent.

Additional Information
--Expectations and Commitment: A strong commitment to the show and appropriate behavior at all times are required. This cannot be too strongly stressed. Participants in the show must attend all scheduled rehearsals for their assigned role. A student who is unprepared for the rehearsals, has not memorized their lines/songs, who misses rehearsal, who is unable to maintain self-control or who is insubordinate or unkind to other production members may be removed from the performance at any time by the production staff.
--Volunteerism: Parents/Guardians are required to volunteer their time and provide donations to support the efforts of the show. Additional information will be posted on this web site as the opportunities become available.
--Fee: A materials fee will be assessed to each student to help cover participation expenses. The amount of the materials fee is the CAST MATERIALS FEE listed above. This contributes to the cost of the show rights, script and music material, student tshirts, costumes and sets. The volunteers who produce the show do not receive any part of this fee. The mandatory materials fee is due by the MATERIALS FEE DUE DATE listed above and should be paid on this website (link coming soon). If this fee presents a hardship, please contact us.
All communication will primarily be via the website. Some messages may be sent to direct you to information on the website, so please provide a regularly checked email address on the Audition Form. Please type accurately.
