Data
The data Story
All of the data being assembled as part of this project are being shared publicly. The website MilkyWay3D.org will (soon!) host links to both data and visualization resources.
Data products will take the form of:
individual data sets will be available (initially) in a single Google Drive, and ultimately via NASA’s Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (MAST) archive and/or MilkyWay3D Dataverse.
saved glue sessions and OpenSpace profiles that allow anyone to recreate any saved combination of data and visualizations
additions to the Digital Universe database used inside of OpenSpace
Our first "data release" will be via MAST, using all the data presented in The Solar Neighborhood in the Age of Gaia (Zucker et al. 2022) to be included in the Protostars and Planets VII volume. After that, our plan is to write a more public-facing article, and release bundles of data (on MAST and likely also Dataverse). This web site (MilkyWay3D.org) will be continually updated with new data offerings, and visualizations, as releases progress.
We are also interested in community contributions!
