The Mildred ISD Booster Club is a community based non-profit league. As such, we are self-funded and supported by community volunteers. We are not financially supported by the school district or tax payer funds. All board members, parents, coaches, assistant coaches, and students are unpaid volunteers who donate untold hours of their personal time & resources to ensure the success of Mildred ISD extracurricular programs and our children.
We maintain concession stands in both school gyms and at the baseball/softball fields during school sponsored games and events. The concession stands provide players and their families’ convenient access to food and beverages, especially in Mildred where we don't have any stores/restaurants close to the school. More importantly, it is also an important fundraiser for the Booster Club in supporting all of Mildred ISD and the activities of our children. The Mildred community is well known for its outstanding support of its programs and your support is vital to our continued success. This relies heavily on parent volunteers in order to keep it going.
We've had some trouble keeping the concession stands manned recently. We believe wholeheartedly in the Mildred ISD community and believe some of the issue may be due to miscommunication or a lack of sufficient marketing on our part. In order to fix some of that, we have implemented an easy to use web based system using Signup.com to help us coordinate & track volunteer opportunities. They also have a smartphone app for iPhones and Androids that will allow volunteers to track their hours for logging purposes (as well as other useful features).
