The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Triple-A for the Miami Marlins, looks to get ahead of the other teams in triple this season as they open against the Worchester Woo Sox. The Jumbo Shrimp open this season with some of the best pitchers in the Miami Marlins Organization on their team, which will be a real challenge for opposing teams this current season. Jacksonville's Right-Handed Pitcher Edward Cabrera, the Miami Marlin's second-ranked top prospect, will be with the team to start the season but is expected to be with the Marlins by the end of the year. Edward played three games with the Miami Marlins in 2021, but all three resulted in losses, and his era was at a 5.81 for 26.1 innings pitched; however, with Jacksonville, his era was a 3.86 for 29.1 innings pitched with the team. Edward isnt the only pitching prospect to watch out for in Jacksonville, the Marlin's third-ranked prospect (Max Meyer RHP), the Marlin's sixth-ranked prospect (Sixto Sanchez RHP), the Marlins 20th ranked prospect (Nick Neidert RHP), and finally, the Marlins 21st ranked prospect (Braxton Garrett LHP) all will be starting on the Jumbo Shrimp this season. However, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp will have to hit down as they lost their top prospect Lewin Diaz, who got called up to the MLB, and outfielder Jesus Sanchez, who were both called up to the Marlins MLB Squad. I think Jacksonville will have a great season in the minor leagues as they have a strong squad of pitchers, but for scoring runs, I believe they are going to score some but keep games low scoring. The Jumbo Shrimp play their home opener against the Woo Sox's starting this Tuesday in a six-game home series. The Jumbo Shrimp play the Triple-A Champions from last year at Durham after that series. Those games start on Tuesday, April 12th; those games can be found on MiLB TV for streaming.
