The Charlotte Knights are the Triple AAA affiliate for the Chicago White Sox’s. The Knights play in Charlotte, North Carolina. The team is a member of the Triple A’s East division and was formerly in the International League. The team plays their home games in Truist Field, formally known as Knights Stadium and Knights Castle. The Knights were initially a double AA affiliate for the Baltimore Orioles when they played in 1976; however, after the Orioles and Cubs dropped them as a Double AA affiliate, they were picked up by the Cleveland Indians as their triple AAA affiliate. The Knights have won four league titles, their last being in 1999 and seven division titles, their last being in 2012. The team plays with 20 other groups in the triple AAA east, making it one of the Minor League Baseball system divisions.
Truist Field is a baseball stadium located in the Uptown Area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The field serves as the home stadium for the Triple AAA Charlotte Knights. The field can be reached by public transportation via the Charlotte North Carolina light rail system. The ballparks dimensions are Left Field 330ft (100m), Center Field 400ft (120 m), and Right Field 315 ft (96 m). The Ballpark broke ground on September 14th, 2012, to get more fans watching their games. Before then, the Knights played in Knights Stadium in Fort Mills, South Carolina, a 30 min drive from the city of Charlotte. The stadium’s surface is all-natural grass.
