The Trenton Thunder are the MLB Draft League Champions! They ended the season with 98 points to become the inaugural champions! The Thunder have become the first MLB Draft league champions as it was the first season ever in the MLB Draft League. The MLB Draft League is a collegiate summer baseball league that plays as a pathway for college athletes to go into the pros as they are in the premier league behind the Appalachian League for MLB scouting. Trenton capitalized on the championship as they held the most points at the end of the season. There were no playoffs due to the coronavirus concern, thus leading the teams to end the season in points standing. The West Virginia Black Bears were the runner-ups with 96 points, two shy of the Thunder, who had 98 points. West Virginia needed a last game win but fell short closing out the season as they were only .5 of a game behind the Thunder. The MLB Draft League will continue this year with the same amount of teams as it looks to hit off at the start of June.
