The Tampa Bay Rays have always been known for having some of the best minor league baseball teams in each of the leagues, and they have once again proved why people say they have the best Minor League Farm System. The Rays, whose 2021 minor league team affiliates are The Charleston River Dogs (Low-A), the Bowling Green Hot Rods (High-A), the Montgomery Biscuits (Double-A), and the Durham Bulls (Tripple-A), have all been performing well since opening day. The River Dogs, who play in the Low-A East South Division, lead their division with 21 wins and 13 losses. The Bowling Green Hot Rods, who play in the High A East South Division, lead their division with a total of 24 wins and 12 losses. However, in Montgomery, there is a whole different situation brewing. The Montgomery Biscuits are currently third in their division with 16 wins and 19 losses, making them one of the worst teams in the South East division for Double-A. However, the Biscuits could manage to get to the top of their division with a sweep against the top-ranked Pensacola Blue Wahoos. A sweep would put Montgomery 1.5 games ahead of Pensacola. In Durham, where the Durham Bulls play, the bulls have the Nashville Sound right behind them. The Bulls and the Sound are currently tied for first place, both having a six-game series this week. The Bulls, however, are excited to welcome back Tampa Bay Rays' first Baseman Mike Brosseau who was just bumped back down to Tripple A for Ji Man Choi. Mike Brosseau, who wasn't performing well in the majors, could perform significantly better in the upcoming series against the Norfolk Tides. The Rays minor league teams need to keep winning for them to have a strong record, and with the rays having the top prospect Wander Franco, we could see them calling him up soon for the remainder of the 2021 season.
