The Jersey Shore Blue Claws open their season against the Aberdeen iron birds in hopes of seeking an opening day win. Jersey Shore, High A for the Phillies, has some of the Phillies' top 10 prospects on their team who look to continue moving up during the season. Johan Rojas, Philly's fourth overall prospect and the highest-ranked prospect for jersey shore, had a great season last year, mainly in the rookie league, where he had a batting average of (.750) for the game he played in the Florida Complex Leauge. However, he was quickly called up to Low A, where he batted (.240) in his 47 games played. Rojas ended the season off with Jersey Shore playing 17 games with them and batting (.344). Rojas is the player to watch out for when it comes to Jersey Shore, as his hot bat allows the team to score runs. On the other side, Aberdeen comes into Jersey Shore with no top 10 prospects for their affiliate, the Baltimore Orioles. Most of Baltimore's top prospects are in Low A and are yet to get called up. We predict that because of having no top stand-out prospects, Aberdeen will struggle in the first half of the season. But after the call-ups and most of the top prospects move into Aberdeen from Delmarva, we will see a massive number of games won by Aberdeen and a shot at winning the championship in the SAL Leauge this year. However, it doesn't rule out Aberdeen's chances of winning ball games; Aberdeen still has some good players on their rosters, like Hudson Haskin, Baltimores 16th prospect. Regardless of the outcomes, fans will be happy to be back at the ballpark as minor league baseball officially returns!
