Yard Goats explode in the third inning scoring eight runs against the Binghampton Rumble Ponies. Hartford came into today's game with a brutal opening day loss against the Rumbel ponies 8-2 last night but seemed to have fixed things, and their hot bats went off against Binghampton today. Yard Goats Ezequiel Tovar opened things up for the Yard Goats with a walk in the bottom of the third but found himself quickly at the plate after Michale Toglia, and Willie Maclever got on with a single and a ground roll double. Hartford's Brenton Doyle followed with a single driving in Toglia and scored five to zero. Right after Aaron Schunk homered on a line drive that just got its way out of Dunkin Doughnuts Park, making the score now 7-0. It wasn't too long after as the next batter got a single and then was driven in by a double from Hunter Stoval. Binghampton switched pitchers, and it went to no avail as the yard goats had multiple hits on him. Finally, as we made our way back to the top of the order, Yard Goats, Ezequiel Tovar hit a home run on a line drive to center field to end the yard goats scoring at 10-0. Marcel Renteria went for 2.2 innings, giving up eight runs and seven hits while walking one. Justin Lasko, who was still in after the end of the inning, gave three hits for three earned runs. Yard Goats pitcher Nick Busch has pitched 4.2 innings giving up six hits but no earned runs. Busch has seven strikeouts through the first five he's pitched.
