The Montclair Red Hawks came out to play today against the New Jersey City Gothic Knights as they put 13 runs on the Gothic Knights in the first inning. The game started with Montclair taking the field and getting an easy three outs other than the gothic knights' one-out double. The Knights started strong in the first with a strikeout to get the first out, but it all started to go wrong after a Hit by pitch. Montclair began to the damage as a two-run homer hit off the bat of Jorden Jurkiewicz put them to the early lead. The scoring continued after a double by Andrew Ollwerther and a single by Miles Feaster put the Red Hawks to a 4-0 lead. Multiple errors by both the shortstop and centerfielder allowed for four more runs to score, making the ball game 8-0. The Gothic Knights decided to pull their starting pitcher Berto Reyes who gave up eight earned runs, for their Right-hander, Tyler Kittle, who allowed for two more runs to score. The Gothic Knights finally got out of the inning 30 minutes after being on the field. The Knights attempted to make a comeback in the second inning and scored two after the second, 13-2. At the end of, the first inning Montclair scored 13 runs, had eight hits, forced three errors, and left one on base.
