Where Everybody Knows You're Sane: A Collection
I consider my writing to be a unique, yet palatable blend of Action/Adventure meets Thriller/Suspense, with notes of Mystery and Comedy, then finished with a touch of Horror. If that sounds like your cup of tea, please have a look.
And remember to PLEASE leave a review! (but only if it's positive in my case)

"Sometimes you wanna go, Where Everybody Knows You're Sane,
And they understand your pain.
You wanna be where they'll agree,
There's nothing wrong with your brain
You wanna go, Where Everybody Knows You're Sane."
From Milan R. Davidek, author of Aura and Misophonia, comes Where Everybody Knows You're Sane: A Collection. Eight dark and twisted tales guaranteed to make you rethink what you know, and maybe even leave you questioning your own sanity.
"Palooka": An aged-out former boxing coach has fallen on hard times. Once well-known and well-respected, now he tries to make ends meet working at a local supermarket, anonymously. Until one day, a mysterious customer appears. Someone who seems to know there's more to the man than he lets on. Now, he must face the choice of continuing to hide from his past, or finally facing the skeletons in his closet.
"Ghosted": A tale of obsession in which the true nature of a man's motives, and perhaps his very existence, are ultimately called into question.
"Fair Moans": Four friends set off on a camping trip in an effort to reconcile their differences. It just so happens, their camping site was once host to a series of grisly murders which still remain unsolved. After all, what better place is there to try to settle bad blood?
"The Stash": On a day that started out like any other, a group of young boys are faced with a choice; one with potentially life-altering consequences.
"The Initiation": A trio of social media pranksters bite off more than they can chew when their next prank goes awry. Turns out, they picked the wrong victims this time around, which soon becomes apparent when they find themselves in an unexpected game of life and death.
"The Dumps": A kid facing the worst day of his life will find that sometimes miracles can happen in the most unlikely of times, and places.
"Harvey": A man in rehab starts to lose his grasp on reality after a series of unexplained visits from a mysterious stranger forces him to confront his inner demons.
"Something Grisly: An Unbearable Truth": An old couple in a small town who are struggling to get by suddenly find themselves blessed with good fortune when a series of accidents bring them much-needed business which could potentially save their auto-repair shop from foreclosure. Unfortunately for them, this newfound good fortune catches the attention of their rival, a local magnate whose greed seemingly knows no bounds.
When Martin Riley is released from custody after serving an eight-year sentence, imprisoned for a crime he has no recollection of committing, all he wants now is a quiet life. What he’ll soon find, however, is anything but.
Misophonia. It’s a neurological disorder characterized by an intense emotional and physiological reaction to sounds. In Marty’s case, though, it’s more than just an annoyance. It makes him crazy!
For as long as he can remember, Marty has been plagued by this affliction. An exceptionally severe form of the condition which renders him hyper-sensitive to sound and unable to tolerate the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Raised in isolation by his overbearing, eccentric mother, he finds himself forced to return home in the hopes of starting over. There, he’ll need to confront the demons of his past, and maybe even some from his future too.
Back where his tragic past unfurled, it doesn’t take long for trouble to find him. Upon reuniting with some old friends, it soon becomes evident to Marty and the gang that there’s something sinister in the place he once called home, and it just so happens, facing it may be the very thing that holds the key to his salvation. Now, in order to save himself, and the lives of those around him, a choice will be made. The time of reckoning has finally come.
When a mysterious and murderous force comes into their lives inexplicably, a group of friends, estranged from each other for twenty years, find themselves forced to put their differences aside in order to survive.
"This book is exemplary in its voice and writing style. It has a unique voice, and the writing style is consistent throughout. One of my favorite things of this book is how poetic is if for a rather thriller adventure. The interesting philosophical questions brought up by the group of identity, along with how we survive and solve the problems of the immediate moment, were quite fascinating. I liked that once the story gets going it kept me riveted the whole time.Overall this is a wonderfully compelling read." --
