This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use the MIKI mobile application (Android only). By using MIKI, you agree to this Privacy Policy as part of our Terms of Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email (where we have your email address) before the changes take effect. Continued use of MIKI after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications that you may access through MIKI (such as social media platforms you use to log in). We are not responsible for how third parties handle your information.
To provide MIKI's services, we collect the following information:
Account Information
Account name, gender, date of birth, age, city or area
Social media profile information (profile photo, gender, etc.) if you sign in via Facebook or Google
Profile tags, photos, and other content you add to your MIKI profile
Email Address (optional)
We collect your email address only if you provide it to us when contacting customer support or if required for account verification. We do not require an email address to use MIKI.
Usage and Device Information
Device information: mobile carrier, device model and ID, operating system version, IP address, location/country/region/time zone
App usage data: features you use, interactions with other users, page views, network type and bandwidth
Preferences: likes and dislikes you make within MIKI
Technical Information
Configuration information from other programs you use to access MIKI
User settings and app version information
To provide certain features (e.g. online video calling), we must access your microphone, camera, and/or location, with your permission, as described below:
1) Microphone: We access the microphone on your device (with your permission) to record audio messages and deliver sound during video calls.
2) Camera: We access the camera on your device (with your permission) to take your profile pictures and deliver real-time images during video calls.
3) Location: We display your current location on your profile page (with your permission) to provide a personalized and optimized experience for you and other users.
By using MIKI, you agree that all processing activities of sensitive personal information are for the purposes and in the manner as described in this Privacy Policy.
Please note that we do not use your sensitive personal information for the purpose of direct marketing unless agreed by you.
The services of MIKI are not for use by anyone under the age of 18. Therefore, we do not knowingly collect personal information from any data subject under such age. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a data subject under 18, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.

We may use the Android Advertising ID (also known as the Google Advertising ID or GAID) for the following purposes:
Analytics and data analysis to understand how users interact with MIKI
Improving user experience and app performance
Fraud prevention and security
Personalizing your experience within the app
Important: We do not use the Advertising ID to serve third-party advertisements inside the MIKI app or to engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. You can manage your Advertising ID settings through your Android device settings.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve MIKI's services (including features we may add in the future)
Personalize your experience, such as suggesting friends or customizing content
Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
Monitor app usage and analyze trends to improve our services
Enhance safety and security, verify your identity, and prevent fraud or unauthorized activity
Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies
User-Generated Content
When you share text messages, photos, videos, or other content with other MIKI users, this content is transmitted directly between users and is not stored on our servers. You are responsible for what you choose to share, and we cannot control how other users use or share content you send them.
Where permitted by applicable law and based on an appropriate legal basis, we may use your contact details (such as your email address, if you have provided it) to send marketing communications through one or more channels, including:
In-app notifications
Push notifications
Other communications channels as available in your region
We may also communicate with you through other channels, including SMS/text messages, where permitted by applicable law and subject to any applicable consent requirements.
Opting Out
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by:
Using the "Unsubscribe" link in marketing emails
Adjusting notification settings in the app

Opting out of marketing messages does not prevent us from sending essential service-related communications, such as account verification, password resets, security alerts, or policy updates.
Opt-Out Records
We may retain a minimal record of your opt-out preference (such as a suppression-list entry) to ensure we honor your request and do not send you further marketing messages.
We operate and may continue to operate servers in a number of jurisdictions around the world, so the server on which your personal information is used and stored may not be in your jurisdiction.
You consent to the transfer of your personal information (both inside and outside of your jurisdiction) for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Visible to Other Users
Your public profile information (photos, bio, tags, location, active status) is visible to other MIKI users
Any content you choose to share with other users (messages, photos, videos) can be seen by those users
Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate MIKI, such as:
Cloud hosting and storage providers
Analytics providers (we may share anonymous or aggregated data for usage analytics and industry research)
Customer support tools
These service providers may access your information only to the extent necessary to perform services on our behalf and are obligated not to use it for any other purposes.
Legal Requirements
We may share your information if required by law or legal process, such as:
In response to a subpoena, warrant, or court order
To comply with lawful requests from legal authorities

Business Transfers

Important: We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertising networks for the purpose of serving third-party ads inside the MIKI app.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide MIKI's services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Account Deletion
When you delete your account (see Section 4.2 below), we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we must retain certain data to:
Comply with legal obligations or respond to law enforcement requests
Resolve disputes or enforce our Terms of Service
Prevent fraud and maintain security
Honor your opt-out preferences (we retain a minimal suppression-list entry to ensure we do not send you marketing messages)
De-Identified Data
We may retain de-identified or aggregated information indefinitely for analytics and research purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
We employ administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, however, despite these efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. In the event that your personal information is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will promptly notify you if your personal information has been compromised, as required by applicable law.
Where we do share your personal information with any third parties, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure that such third parties only use your personal information: (i) in compliance with this Privacy Policy; and (ii) subject to any other instructions we give them, including any appropriate confidentiality and security measures that we implement.
You can access and edit your profile information directly in the MIKI app at any time.
If you believe information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can:

You can change the system settings of your device to manage permissions for specific device data access as well as notifications. By doing so, you can stop MIKI from accessing your device data and displaying notifications. However, please keep in mind that this may cause certain services to lose functionality.
