Prof. Lai works at the intersection of shipping, logistics, quality management, and sustainability. His research and editorial service connect maritime studies with supply chain strategy, business performance, and sustainable operations. He has authored Concise Introduction to Logistics Management in 2026 (ISBN: 978-1-0353-8540-9), co-authored seven books, and published 300+ journal papers (89.8% in Q1 journals on Scival), including papers in the UTD/ Financial Times Top 50 Journals. Mar. 2026: Prof. Kee-hung Lai’s new book Concise Introduction to Logistics Management has been published in the Edward Elgar Concise Introductions series. The book presents a compact overview of key logistics management concepts and emerging trends.
Nov. 2025: Prof. Lai, representing the Shipping Research Centre (SRC), signed the agreement establishing the Maritime Talent Cultivation Alliance, convened by the Hong Kong Shipowners Association together with 16 member organisations.
