Mihai Niţoi

Welcome to my website. My name is Mihai Nițoi and I'm a senior researcher at Institute for World Economy and PhD supervisor in Economics at the Romanian Academy. Starting with April 2023, I'm working as economist within the Office of the Romanian Fiscal Council. In prior positions, I was teaching assistant and lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Craiova. I hold a PhD in Finance from the University of Craiova since 2011. 

My individual research interests are related to monetary economics, macroeconomics, financial markets, and financial literacy.  My articles were published in Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Economic Modelling, Economic Systems, or Applied Economics. I'm also coordinating a monthly report on financial markets (in Romanian). 

Most of my free time is devoted to my two young children (aged 8 and 5), as their hobbies have become my hobbies.
