WorsePoly is a party video game for 2-4 players developed for the MalagaJam18. In this game jam I decided to take the role of a designer and producer at the same time so the team could implement all of the features we wanted to for the game.

It's about a girl who just ended a toxic relationship and moved to a new apartment. You have to help her clean and decorate it.
In terms of design, it's a very simple game, so we wanted to add a photo mode so that players can share how they decorated the apartment.
Although we initially wanted the game to be 2D, we decided to develop it in Unreal Engine 5 to try something new. Unfortunately, the tools and documentation provided by Unreal for 2D games are quite limited. Since it's top-down view, we had even more difficulty finding references (most 2D games in Unreal are side-scrolling). Finally, despite searching and trying different rendering settings, the final visual result doesn't do justice to the beautiful assets we've used

The goal was to create a few levels of a game, taking advantage of the technical and creative aspects, while working within the constraints of starting with a finished project and a limited assets pack.
This led me to adapt to the situation within a short timeframe that I set for myself, as if it were a technical test. In this case, it was one week in my free time.
