I am a Professor in the Department of Economics at the Universidad de Piura (Lima Campus). My research uses quasi-experimental methods to study questions in development economics, economic history, and political economy, with a focus on Peru.
I hold a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a B.A. from Universidad del Pacífico. Before joining academia, I worked at the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS), Peru's financial regulatory agency, which informs my interest in credit and insurance.
Other appointments:
Director of Social Sciences and Humanities Research, Universidad de Piura.
Member of the Advisory Committee, Department of Economics, Universidad de Piura.
Co-organizer of the Seminario de Microeconomía Aplicada a Perú.
