Description

Latido, part of the Memoria series, is an interactive digital poem that explores intergenerational love, grief, and the preservation of a mother's immaterial legacy. Through an interface driven by the user's interaction, the poem reveals itself line by line with each click. As the text appears, every visible verse pulses continuously to the synchronized rhythm of a beating heart. The work transforms the written word from a static memory into a living, breathing entity, acting as a shared ritual of remembrance that honors the enduring bond between a mother, her daughter, and her granddaughter across the boundaries of life and death.

Artistic Statement

Latido utilizes rhythmic animation and user-driven interaction to physically manifest the pulse of a cherished memory. By requiring the reader's touch to "resuscitate" the text verse by verse, the interface turns the act of reading into an intimate ritual of connection and survival. The continuous, synchronized heartbeat of the letters visually and sonically subverts the finality of loss, creating a digital space where the mother's history remains vibrantly alive. The piece positions the screen as an active device for mourning and healing, demonstrating that while physical objects may be left behind, the immaterial fabric of love continues to beat relentlessly within the digital architecture.
