Description

Intentos, part of the Memoria series, is an interactive piece presented through fragmented digital communications—phone calls, chats, and messages. It explores the intersection of the migrant experience and the gradual erasure caused by Alzheimer’s disease. As the user navigates five phases of failed connections, the work becomes an archive of the struggle to maintain a fading emotional bond against the dual frictions of geographic distance and neurological decline.

Artistic Statement

Intentos uses the instability of digital interfaces to mirror the fragility of memory. By juxtaposing the silence of the border with the silence of a mind losing its grip on the present, the work subverts the promise of connectivity. It invites the viewer to experience the recurring, often futile effort to sustain a sense of "home" and "identity" when both are being eroded by physical displacement and the relentless progression of disease. The code serves as a site of mourning, documenting the persistent attempt to be heard across the widening gap of absence.
