Midnight Muse is built from the ground up with one core philosophy: Your thoughts are yours alone. We believe that a digital journal and voice organizer should be a completely private extension of your mind.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. The short version is: We do not have access to your voice notes, transcripts, or calendar events.
To provide you with our "100% Private by Design" guarantee, we intentionally avoid collecting your personal data:
Voice & Audio: Your voice recordings are processed entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence. We never hear them, and they are never sent to our servers.
Transcripts & Notes: All text generated by the app is saved locally on your device and synced securely via your personal Apple iCloud account. We have zero access to your notes, summaries, or categorizations.
Calendar & Reminders: When Midnight Muse creates events or reminders, it interacts directly with native Apple frameworks on your device. We do not track or store your schedule.
AI Training: Your personal entries, dreams, and ideas are never used to train our AI models or third-party AI models.
To ensure the app functions properly and to help us improve the experience, we collect limited, strictly anonymous data:
Anonymous App Diagnostics & Usage: We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage (e.g., how often the app is opened, device models, operating system versions, and crash reports). This data is completely stripped of identifiable information. No User IDs are created or tracked.
Voluntary Feedback: If you choose to use the in-app "Send Feedback" feature to report a bug or suggest a feature, the text you type is sent to our secure database alongside your app's language setting (locale) and a timestamp. This submission is entirely anonymous and is not linked to your notes or identity.
Midnight Muse relies on the following trusted third-party infrastructure:
Apple (iCloud & Apple Intelligence): Used for syncing your notes across your devices and performing local AI processing. Your relationship with these services is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Google (Firebase): Used exclusively for the anonymous crash reporting and usage analytics mentioned above.
Midnight Muse does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because our app does not require an account or collect personal identities, all users remain anonymous.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this policy and, if necessary, providing a notice within the app.
