Step 1 - Install and Setup

  • Midi Maker (MM) can be downloaded from my Google drive here . MM is delivered as a zip file. It does not need to be installed as such. Simply unzip the download to a folder of your choice and create a shortcut on your desktop or taskbar, whichever is most convenient for you.
  • Connect your keyboard to your computer with the USB cable and download and install the USB midi driver for your keyboard from the Yamaha web site.
  • Next you will need to set up your keyboard to accept commands from MM. The pictures on the left are for the Genos keyboard but the process is similar on Tyros or PSR keyboards. There is a good discussion on how to do this on the PSR Tutorial web site forum here.
  • MM will send the commands as specific notes to the keyboard so it is important that the keyboard is set up exactly as the pictures show. When done, save the template using a name of your choice.

Once you have completed this step you are ready to create a song file with MM as shown in Step 2.
