IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Professional Development Teacher Workshop will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 @ FIU Modesto Madique Main Campus. M-DCPS teachers can receive MPP for attending. Please register/sign-up through the Frontline Education Portal (Formerly My Learning Plan). Private school teachers, Broward teachers and M-DCPS teachers that do not need to receive MPP are welcomed to attend and will need to RSVP by completing this form. If no representative from your school can attend the PD, lead teacher can watch training video to learn specific details about this year’s program. Points based on registration & participation.
  • Click here to see tips on creating a Green Team & taking a Pledge. Please provide a list of the Green Team members and their roles via email (4 points), along with pictures/photos (1 point) of the pledge (5 points)that your school will create. When schools submit the pledge, it must include:
    1. Who is taking the pledge?
    2. What does the pledge intend for people to do?
    3. Are there specific actions to take?
    4. Is there an attitude or feeling to reinforce?
    5. What is the desired outcome?
  • The Environmental Self-Assessment is available online, Click here to submit. Points will be based on how much information schools are able to complete out of 40 possible responses; (1 - 4 questions answered = 1 point), (5 - 9 = 2 points), (10 - 14 = 3 points), (15 - 19= 4 points), (20 = 5 points), (21 - 25 = 6 points), (26 - 30 = 7 points), (31 - 34 points = 8 points), (35 - 39 = 9 points), (40 = 10 points).
  • Please click here for examples of Yearly School Environmental Goals. Schools will choose one main topic either Waste Reduction & Recycling or Water Conservation or Energy Efficiency & Conservation or Environmental Improvement Projects. Choose 2 initiatives out of the chosen topic, & submit an action plan & how to assess progress. These goals will be used at the end of the school year to evaluate effectiveness of initiatives at schools. Click here to view rubric.
