MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation has placed more than 20 Service Dog Teams since 2009. All of our lives have been touched by the bond between the service dogs and their owners. It is our personal attention and dedication to this program that makes it second to none.

Mission Statement

The mission of MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation is to obtain, provide, and train service dogs for children and adults with mobility disabilities so that their lives may be enhanced, and they may benefit from the loyalty, friendship, and independence their service dogs provide.

Training Program

Our training program was designed by our three on staff trainers who have over 40 cumulative years of experience training service dogs and over 50 cumulative years experience training dogs. Between them they have over 14 dogs with AKC advanced degrees and national titles. Their experience includes, obedience, schutzhund, service, therapy, bomb and police dog training.

Puppies

Our puppies start their training at about 8 weeks old and continue with a year and a half of intensive training by female inmates at the IDOC's Helping Paws Service Dog Training Program in IL. This highly successful training program has been in operation for over 14 years. Our organization provides continual training for as long as the recipient has their service dog and we attend IEP meetings at school for children who receive one of our service dogs.
