In this session, you will hear stories about women pursuing or working in diverse areas related to mathematical and statistical sciences. Our speakers work in different sectors (academia, industry, non-profit). Some topics for discussion are:
Summary of their journey, why they chose their respective careers, and how they got started
What challenges and barriers have they faced along the way, and how have they overcome them
How they’ve built support networks, found mentorship, and overcome challenges
Advice for women and underrepresented students pursuing careers in the mathematical and statistical sciences
If you’re curious about the amazing work done by successful women, exploring a career in the mathematical and statistical sciences, or want to hear from inspiring professionals, this session is for you.
