Recently I've been getting into some Python and I remembered that one of the groups had also developed a Python deployment using the isolated shell. But I can't seem to find anything additional on it.

Granted, I realize that Python can be written in Visual Studio now, but just was trying to dig into the history. I noticed last night when I was digging that the isolated shell is available all the way through 2015.

Procedure The Microsoft Visual Studio Shell 12.0 library is a part of Visual Studio 2013 Shell (an older version of the software). Therefore, the download link is not located on the main Visual Studio Downloads page, and is separated as isolated shells. The following steps describe how to locate and download the Visual Studio 2013 Shell.

From the Control Panel I can see that "MS Visual Studio 2015 isolated shell" is present and can't uninstall it (no uninstall option). After clicking on the 'change' button...same thing as mentioned before (logo pops up ...5-20sec...logo disappears)

I had the same issue not able to uninstall the visual studio 2015 shell (isolated). I tried all I could but not seeing the option to uninstall then I decided to click on modify, ran as adm then I found uninstall option. Done!

Well, the version switcher does try to install visual studio integration (and also runs when you launch teststand), so it is likely that installation that is failing. I will enter a corrective action request into our database and see if there is any way to workaround this.
