There is also a setting in Windows update that will allow it to search for updates to 3rd party and hardware. This is one way to get the correct driver automatically. I would prefer to manually find it though.

Setting up the mic and it doesn't hear or recognise the microphone array. Can't use Cortana or Google speech (ok google on chrome). When looking at the settings and increasing microphone boost etc, it doesn't hear any sound. When setting up mic windows says it can't hear anything.

I uninstalled the audio devices from the device manager, rebooted, and in the sound settings, recording tab, you can see that the microphone is picking up the sound. But once I install the Realtek drivers, through the Intel Drivers and Support app, the microphones don't pick anything up. Without the realtek drivers, Google speech recognition works, but once the realtek drivers go on, it doesn't. Cortana doesn't work at all under any circumstance.

So this is the same driver version as the Intel Driver and Support Assistant, as listed above. Although, Intel D&SA also shows: Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for Windows 10 64-bit for Intel NUC Kit NUC8i7HNK, NUC8i7HVKLatest version: 6.0.1.8454

You need to right click the windows button and click on divice manager and the go click audio input and output then right click on Realtek Microphone Array then click on uninstall thats it after that you will need to restart you pc after 1 min.

This fix didn't work for me but as I was unable to Disable the X-Fi in the Device Mgr., which stated it would require a restart when I tried. I'd tried to kill all related software, but maybe there was something I missed, being the massive driver that it is.

We have a range of HP EliteBook 840 G6 given to users and when they are using Teams inside Citrix with the inbuilt integrated microphone [specifically: Microphone Array (Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST)] when making calls via Teams people are unable to hear them when they speak. They can hear fine and the webcam passes through as well,' in the Teams settings the microphone is listed as well.

I have tested this with 3 different users who have the same laptop, other models of laptops we have don't seemed to be affected, likewise if they were able to plug in a headset that also works, so it's just limited to that inbuilt microphone.

Done this and it automatically picked it up each time, disconnected from Citrix each time and then reconnected when it got installed and fully closed/re-opened Teams each time as well (inside Citrix), also checked outside Citrix and was working both times

The second time I kicked off some Windows updates, again nothing relating to the microphone was on there and restarted the laptop; did the tests again, same sadly


The microphones are working correctly on other clients with Teams (HDX redirected) and if I connect a headset like Jabra Evolve 75 that microphone works correctly so it's not a general issue in the environment or the client but it's specifically that Teams HDX does not work with this microphone. It displays correctly as a device in Teams but no sound goes through.

Also if I in the Citrix session go to Start > Settings > System > Sound, I can see the soundbar "move" when I speak so the citrix session obviously picks up the microphone and inside the Windows session it works. So it's just for the Teams redirection the microphone isn't working.

Both of these models use the Microphone Array (Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) too. I found an article -ms-teams-not-pulling-through-audio-devices/ that was similar (mic not showing in Teams at all). One poster stated that Teams only supports "Recording Devices: up to 3 channels, 16 bit, frequencies up to 48,000 Hz" per -us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/multimedia/opt-ms-teams.html#peripherals-in-microsoft-teams . That article is now updated and says "Recording Devices: up to 4 channels, 16 bit, frequencies up to 96,000 Hz". Teams identifies the microphone device and does not say "None". I wanted to still try scaling back the number of channels for the mic, but its been grayed out and unable to be changed (tried running as admin, unchecking the exclusive access options ect..). On the various other hardware we have tested and had the mic work in Teams, those mics all showed less than 4 channels.

So I bought this pair like 1.5 years ago and in Windows 10 they appeared as two separate devices: Headphones and Headset and you could switch between the two. Headphones had MUCH better audio but i could only use that when the microphone was not used by any app. When I entered a discord voice room or a google meet, I had to manually switch to the Headset output which massively downgraded the audio but they were still usable. Now since I switched to Win 11, the headphones appear as a single output device and that is Headphones(LE_WH-1000XM3) but i think the windows is trying to switch between the two previous modes automatically or something because i still notice the audio quality difference between listening to a song, and a discord call. The problem is that it does a shitty job at switching it automatically and i have to quit and rejoin every single call/meet i have to participate in until the software finally "guesses" the right setting. How can i solve this? It has been very annoying lately and i cant afford my headphones starting to act out 5 minutes before an online exam or something like that

Kenneth the first thing you have to d is get the faulty driver updater programme off your computer or it will just keep causing more problems. It bricked my PC and I had to completely restore Windows to get a working system back. Very unhappy. Good luck.
